Here's another promo image for Life's so Sweet!!
Wednesday, 16 May 2012
So I've done another background of Sugarton high hill. I really like this image which ties in nicely with the other backgrounds. I like it so much I wanted to make it the base for my promotional image.
And this is what the promo image looks like :D
Here's some more collar stuff.
I quite like these designs that Ive given a greyscale wash in photoshop. The forest one I think is my favourite one to design and to colour. I has this kind of enchanted feeling.
But I do still like the others swell. Ive done more to go with this project but at the moment as usual panic is here for this deadline!
This is the background idea for the collaborative project. We've designed a game in our group which is set in the Medieval ages. This is the background idea for the forest level which I quite like. What we're designing are the pre pro work images for the game rather than production images so we get a chance to go through some good designing stages.
Due to freaking out about the deadline at the end of the week I'm not uploading much at the moment but I will show you more from this project soon!
I've designed more props for the girls as I didn't think they really had much, so I did some girly accessories they might have and obviously every girl needs some variety and choice so there's plenty to choose from.
I've done some bicycle designs for the girls for their trips back and for to Sugarton Town or to ride up and down the lane outside their house. I think these ideas are quite fun and quirky and fit in nicely with the other vehicle designs.

So these are my final personal project images.
I wanted to redesign movie posters from popular films from the 80s and early 90s
The idea was to have a simple background and images.
I wanted people to be able to look at the images and know right away what each of the movies are.
I like how they have turned out. There's parts of each that I really like and parts that I could change, but I like the outcomes and personally I think they work well.
I really love 80s and early 90s movies so I wanted to do something quite fun and different to my major project. I really enjoyed doing this project and will probably continue to do more of them.

Character colour development
Daisy action poses
Vehicle shape development
Another design idea for my personal project for remaking 80s classic movies.
Here I wanted to have a sort of washed out feeling to give a nostalgic feeling also I didn't want to put too much information onto the poster because the image speaks for itself. By taking a main element of the movie which is something so identifiable to the audience it doesn't need anything else. I prefer this design to the previous one I did, this one has more of a style and an idea of representing the classics whereas the other one just seemed quite copy cat to previous posters made.

So I've also been working on my Personal project which is redesigning top grossing 80s movies, which happen to be some of my favourite. I'll be uploading some finished ones that I've done in the coming weeks, but here's one anyway :D
Back to the Future
This is my all time favourite movie thats not Disney (for once :D). I wanted to use simple layouts and shapes to create the poster, which is what I'll be doing in my other posters as well.
I'm thinking of some ways to improve this poster and think up some other ideas i can include in the other posters.
The Candy Cars
Below are my colour keys and final images for my vehicles. I went for a toffee colour theme in the end for both cars. I really like the colour theme and the roofless car is my favourite, its got a vintage feel about it which I quite like.
The 2nd candy car is quite humorous which I like. It adds a fun element to the design.
Some more props! Here are some of the girls fave things!!!
Daisy's got her paint brush, colouring crayons and Reggie the Rabbit.
Jasmine's got her flowers, mystery book, camera and spy goggles!
Some more finished backgrounds
So we have another forest background to add to the completed list. I quite like this one and it's good to have another painted watercolour background to go with the other one which should make more sense to viewers about the different styles to represent the 2 different worlds
This is the Greenly Home. Nice and colourful surrounded by the big trees. Lots of bright colours for the target audience. It's not my favourite background that I've done but I still quite like it!
I wanted to try out my 2 characters in a background which I've done in both of the pictures below. I think they look quite nice in them. It's nice to see the images match with the characters!

So below are some colour keys for my final logo and also some text try outs for my final design. Then there's my final design which I'm really happy with. I think it suits the story well and explains the show well.
So I've started finalising some props for my show. Below are some of the sweets you'll find in the shop and also the pic n' mix bag to fill up with sweets.

'Ye ole sweet shop' inside!
So this is what the inside of the sweet shop looks like. This image shows the whole image I designed so I could choose which part I wanted to use as my final scaled background. I used Illustrator to make this one which I think works nicely so it's the style I want to put the rest of my backgrounds in apart from my forest ones which I wanted in a different style so you can tell the 2 'worlds' apart.
This is my scaled background of the shop which I really like as it's eye level for the young characters as a POV shot. I tried to add a 3D effect to add depth to the scene, so you can see through the glass counter to the cupboard behind and the same for the muffin fridge.
Sugarton town - Re-vamped
So I've made some changes to this background which I think work better than the other one did. I did the rest of the town in Illustrator and did the shop in Photoshop to get more detailing. I think it fits in better and it matches the style of the other background.
So this is what Sugarton town looks like at night. I added a fog and some stars in the sky and put a blue gradient over the image to add to the effect of night time. I added a glow with a soft brush to the lights on the cinema which look quite nice and add a bit more to the mood of the background. I'm happy with the overall look of this background.

So this is what the town looks like. The sweet shop is pretty cool!! not sure about the road, too much grey going on, but I quite like it.
So I've made some more changes to this background in comparison to the previous one. I've added a foreground and pushed back the background colour even more in photoshop which really gives it more of a 3D feel unlike before. I like how the sweets stand out swell it makes it more whimsical.
These are my colour keys for my floor plan with the final image as well. I used Illustrator to create my images and I quite like the style of them and the way they turned out.
